Today we honor all the brave American military members who have lost their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day carries a special meaning in the lives of thousands of families who have lost a husband, wife, daughter, or son. All of these fallen soldiers are heroes in my book. God bless all the families who are spending the day remembering their heroes.
This patriotic plaque is three layers thick. The layers are painted red, white, and blue. I kept the word piece a natural wood. There are three different word plaques to choose from. America, Freedom, and Remember
You can use just about any material to make these plaques if you plan to paint them. Even 1/4" MDF will work fine.
Just Rambling:
I just wanted to spend a few words talking about where we all are in this crazy world right now. We are all experiencing unprecedented events in our lifetime. We are all trying to understand where things are going. I am not smart enough to know whether this disaster is being handled correctly or not. I just pray that we all come out of this healthy and not broke. I worry about both.
I am fortunate to have so many of you to stay in contact with. I speak to dozens of you every day through email. I don't want to stereotype but from experience, I can say that many of us are in the higher risk group. For whatever reason, the scroll saw community tends to be an older demographic.
I just want you to know that I pray for you to stay safe.
I get email from you guys telling me that I help you get through the day with my newsletter and patterns. The reverse is also more than true. You help me stay busy and not sitting around watching the news. I am very grateful for that.
Maybe with a little luck, we can get this behind us someday soon. While it goes on, just remember to stay in contact with loved ones. Stay busy being creative. Be helpful to someone you love. Take care of yourself and keep safe. Now let's go to the shop and make something!
