Door Hook / Button Pusher Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

Let me get this out of the way first. I am not a doctor or a virologist. I do not have any research that says this thing works to help prevent you from catching a virus of any kind.

These door hook / button pushers are all over the place and I am getting requests for patterns. Just take a look at Etsy for how many of these are being sold

You can push or pull a door handle. You can use the tip to push the elevator buttons and some ATM machines. They will not work with touch screens.

As you can see in the picture above I cut them from four different materials. All four passed my limited strength test. I was able to pick up a bucket with about 5lbs in it. Obviously, the aluminum one is the least likely to break in your pocket. Cutting 1/8" thick aluminum is not too difficult with the right blade and technique.  Here is a link to Bear Woods where you can find metal cutting blades.

You can find aluminum on Amazon at this link. Amazon aluminum link. You may also have a local metal supply store. If you have it local you can probably get it cheaper.

When you cut aluminum, do not place it directly on your scroll saw table. It will scratch the table. You can stack it with 1/8" plywood and wrap it in tape. You can also just wrap the aluminum in a couple wraps of blue painters tape.

WEAR EYE PROTECTION when cutting metal. The chips that the scroll saw blade makes are very tiny. I have never seen one fly off the blade far enough to hit your eye but I don't chance it either.
