This is an easy portrait style pattern. The wood is 10" X 8". Some scrollers cut these from 1/8" thick plywood and others use 1/4". If you would like to place it in a frame then 1/8" generally works better. If you have trouble cutting 1/8" plywood you can stack cut two at a time. The thicker stack makes it easier to follow the pattern lines.
Furniture Maker, Scott Barron discusses double bevel marquetry techniques on the scroll saw.
I have discussed double bevel cutting on the scroll saw before but Scott does an excellent job showing the technique for marquetry. I think many of you will be inspired to give this beautiful art a try.
Scott is very good at presenting the material. The video is almost 20 minutes long but if you like to watch craftsmen work you will enjoy this for sure.
