Googles servers are giving me all kinds of trouble this morning so I am going to cut this post short.
Talk to you all tomorrow.

Correction to the Cheat Chain Pattern.

It took me a few years to not be embarrassed by the mistakes I post online. It kind of goes with the territory. Thousands of people get to see when I do something dumb. I have learned to embrace my occasional dumbness. This one was really dumb though. :)

I really do appreciate it when you guys point out the obvious to me when I don't see it. Yesterday's Cheat Chain pattern was one of those things I did not think through. Here are an update and explanation.

Making a chain from cut links only requires every other link to be cut. The rest can be complete links. This reduces the number of links you need to glue together. That saves time and the number of bad joints you may have. The link above is the update to the pattern with the included complete link patterns.

Another suggestion from a reader was to just make all solid links and then cut every other one in half.
When you cut them, cut with the grain.  The theory is that the halves would fit back together better and the grain would help hide the cuts. That makes sense also.

Thanks for all the email feedback. These suggestions will make the process of the chain pattern much quicker.
