This tray puzzle only has four pieces. All four pieces need to lay flat in the tray to solve the puzzle. It's only four pieces. How difficult can it be? Give it a try and find out.

If you like to use spray finishes on projects then check this out.

At the bottom of this post, I have an ad for Krylon clear acrylic finish. I just ordered several cans but they have not arrived yet. The reason I am pointing this out now is the price. It is currently $3.98 a can on Amazon. Prices of spray finish have been creeping up ever since the pandemic started. Amazon is notorious for changing prices quickly. I expect this one will jump back up soon. It has been as high as $12 a can. I am a prime member so shipping was free. I believe it is free shipping for all but check that yourself.

Look at the price graph from camelcamelcamel to see what I am talking about.

This is a satin finish. They don't seem to have the semi-gloss or gloss available for this price or I would have purchased those also. (See the update below)

UPDATE:

As I was writing this post I got a price quote for the Krylon Triple Thick Clear Glaze. It is even less expensive at $3.96 a can. I ordered several of these also.  This is a 12oz can. The one above is 11oz.

Heirloom Project by Leland Goins:

Leland sent me this photo yesterday. He cut this from cherry and it looks fantastic. There is something special about this project. The cherry came from a tree on their property. The tree was cut sometime in the '60s. If you run into an opportunity to use a wood that has some history, take advantage of it and make something special like this sleigh

Pieces like this tend to stay in the family for many years. Just imagine, years from now when a family member looks at this piece and says "Where did this beautiful art piece come from?".

Make sure you sign the piece in an inconspicuous place.  Even just a pencil signature will last if you cover it with a UV protection spray acrylic finish. An even better method is a wood burner. If you want to get fancy you can use my signature coins. Just sign it in some way.

The sleigh was one of my patterns from earlier this holiday season.
You can download the sleigh pattern here.

Thanks for sharing the photo Leland.

Personalized Christmas Ornament Patterns are ready to order:

I am ready to start taking Personalized Christmas Ornament Pattern orders.

I can do first or last names but remember that more than ten letters will be more difficult to cut.

The order form will take up to 20 names for people and 5 names for pets. If you need more than 20/5 then start a second order.

You will not pay until you have the patterns and are 100% happy with them. There will be an invoice sent with the patterns to your email. You will have the option to pay securely with a credit card or send a check to the included address.

I am shooting for a three-day turnaround but that may be difficult for a few days until I get all the kinks worked out. I'll do my best. You can set a bookmark for each of the order forms but I will post them almost every day until Christmas.

$1 per/name with a 5 name minimum.

$2 per/name no minimum.

$12 per sheet of 12 coins plus $3.50 shipping
Inlay with a 1" Forstner Bit.
The perfect way to sign your work.
