This Flamingo wall art pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is 10" tall and the large pattern is 14" tall.
01 Their name comes from the Portuguese or Spanish term Flamengo, which means “flame-colored.”
02 Flamingos live between 20 and 30 years.
03 Flamingos are classified as waders: a family of long-legged birds found on bodies of water.
04 There are 4 species of flamingo native to America, while 2 species are native to Asia, Europe, and Africa.
05 A group of flamingos is called a colony.
06 They are non-migratory: a colony would only leave an area if the climate or lack of food calls for it.
07 Their wingspan ranges from 37-39 inches (lesser flamingo) to 55-65 inches (greater flamingo). For the Caribbean flamingo, it is 150 cm.
08 Baby flamingos are called chicks.
09 They are the national bird of the Bahamas.
10 The greater flamingo is the tallest species (~5 ft), while the lesser flamingo is the smallest (~3 ft).
