Flower Basket Scroll Saw Pattern.

I designed this basket with the idea that it could hold a small arrangement of artificial flowers. I did not have flowers in my prop kit so I had to edit the photo to add the flowers. It's not a great photo but you get the idea of what I was thinking.

With the right insert tray, you could use teal flowers. I did not size the basket for any particular flower tray so you may have to search for one that fits.

The basket is cut from 1/4" thick Baltic birch plywood and painted yellow.

You may notice that the ends are angled out. The slots on the front of the basket are enlarged slightly so the 1/4" tab will fit. You do not need to cut any of the sides with the scroll saw head titled. The bottom is held in place by the four sides. No glue is needed on the bottom tabs.

Amazon has the DeWalt DW788 Scroll Saw marked down from $493.94 to $399. They typically only keep the markdown for a few days but they have a few markdowns a year. If you miss this one it will probably come back around in the summer.

The DeWalt scroll saw is probably the most popular mid-level scroll saw ever sold. It has been around for years and there are many of them being used for production type work. The bearing in the DeWalt will eventually fail under heavy production work but it normally takes about three years. Production work means a few hours every day.

I have a DeWalt that is 13 years old and still runs like new. It was used pretty heavily for the first few years but much less now. My saw is a type 1. They are probably a little better built than the current type 2.

Don't get me wrong the DeWalt is an excellent saw. Is very comfortable to use and has all the features you need to do any project you want to try. If you are currently using an entry-level scroll saw you will be surprised how much better the DeWalt runs than what you are used to.
