This sign is 13" X 6". This Coffee sign will look nice in any coffee lover's kitchen.

Coffee consumption in the US is up 5% in the last five years. 62% of Americans drink coffee every day. On average they drink three cups per day.

Coffee consumption increases with age but Americans under 40 increased their consumption by 40% since 2015.

Coffee as a drink dates back to 800 AD. Legend says that goat herders noticed that their goats were more lively when they ate the coffee plant. A local monk made a coffee drink. He noticed that it kept him awake at night and coffee, the drink was born.

Coffee beans are technically seeds.

Brazil grows the most coffee in the world.

The most expensive coffee costs over $600 a pound. One variety comes from the feces of an Asian palm civet. The cat-like animal eats the coffee cherries. He cannot digest the seeds. The brewed seeds make kopi luwak. I think I will have to pass on this one.

If you would like to give it a try you can buy a 3.5 oz can for $101.88 on Amazon. You will probably want to buy a couple so you can share with the neighbors. :)

Why do you use so much Baltic birch plywood?

Wow, I hear that question almost every week. I do like BB ply but I would use nice hardwood for the finished project if I were going to give them as gifts or sell the product unless the BB ply made sense.

The reason for me is cost. I make hundreds of prototype projects every year. 95% of them never leave my house. They are simply for demonstration of the pattern. I would feel guilty if I used nice hardwood for a project that went into a box for storage.

When you look at the photos I take of the projects please consider them samples. Choose the material you use depending on what it is and where it will end up.

BB ply is perfectly adequate for many projects. Toys, novelties, and jigs are all suited for BB ply. A nice mantle clock on the other hand might look a little too rustic made from plywood.
