This pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is 8" tall and the large pattern is 10" tall.

It is estimated that 50 million people went fishing at least one time during the year 2017. I'm sure that the recent shutdowns had some impact on those numbers. I know there were a lot of people who wanted to get outside and away from all the drama.

Harry Rogers demonstrates his treadle powered scroll saw:

Harry Rogers recently posted a video on his YouTube channel where he demonstrates his treadle-powered scroll saw. It is always interesting to look back in history and see how our great grandfathers accomplished the beautiful work with what we would call limited tools.

The treadle-powered scroll saw was actually quite effective in the right hands. It gave instant speed control and you could do your scrolling down by the creek if you wanted to. No electricity needed.

If you would like to read a bit more on these machines here is a link to a page on oldtoolheaven.com that discusses the Miller Falls company and their saws from the 1800s.

Information:

I am even more behind than normal this week on email. Please be patient with me and I will get to as many as I can. My wife and I have been busy working on a possible move to another state and that is taking tons of time. I'll talk about it more when we have more information. It will probably cause a few days of downtime on the blog but I am hoping to keep that to a minimum.

Thanks.
