Magazine Holder Scroll Saw Pattern.

The project in this post was customized with the initials of my wife. I included a blank pattern so you could customize your own. I also included several other options. The pattern is about 40 pages long.

I included the complete alphabet like the B pattern above. There are a couple of stencil cuts and several overlays to glue on. This is one of those projects that you can customize for the person receiving the gift.

Magazines may be a dying breed but my wife still wants a paper magazine. She tried the iPad versions and quickly went back to paper. I am sure there are still a lot of folks who feel the same way.

Before you start cutting this project please notice that the width of the magazine standing on the end that it will hold is 9.5". I like the title up so it is easier to see. If you want a longer holder you will have to extend the length of the walls.

A quick word of caution:

I have thousands of patterns in my free catalog. Because they are free some folks download them and try to sell them on their web page. This happens pretty often. You won't find them on any of the scroll saw pattern web pages. They are almost always sold on laser and CNC pattern web pages.

It is not a problem that I care to spend any time trying to stop because there are only so many hours in a day. What I do care about is that some people are getting scammed into paying for a pattern that is intended to be free.

Sometimes they will include the photo I take of the pattern also. If you ever see the signature in the picture like those above you know they are mine. If they do not include the photo then it is much more difficult to know if it is available in my free catalog.

If you frequent laser and cnc pattern sites just be aware that they often do not check to see if the pattern is copyrighted or not. Often it is not legit.

Technically if you were to buy one of these patterns and cut them to sell on Etsy you could potentially have issues with the original designer. Just be careful and try to support the legitimate pattern designers that we all know and love.  Here are a few web pages that sell only legit patterns and have great service. They also provide excellent and creative patterns for a reasonable price.

There are more but these are my favorites.

Delta Power Tools 40-694 20 In. Variable Speed Scroll Saw

I keep looking for the price on the Delta to drop back to pre covid levels but they seem pretty stubborn with the new price. This is still a decent deal at $518 but it was a great deal before the pandemic.
