Concentric Shape Basket Scroll Saw Pattern.

Two different stacking patterns.

The second pattern above is a twit of about 15 degrees for each ring.

The first stacking method in the demonstration image above is easier. The second method take some patience to get lined up and glued.

I like to cut a separate round bottom for these baskets and discard the interior cut of the basket. You can use the circle or keep the interior and twist it for the bottom.

If you have not seen this type of pattern before then look at the pattern. It is cut from a single board as concentric rings then twisted to make the basket.

First impressions of the Portable Spray Booth.

I have mentioned that my shop is now in the unfinished side of my basement. I am working to eliminate as much dust and fumes as possible. The other day I used some spray paint in the shop and the odor was strong throughout the house. Obviously, that is not going to work. I don't use spray paint very often so I will probably just take those jobs outside.

I do use a lot of spray acrylic to finish my projects. The odor is much less than the spray paint but I still want the smell and fumes vented outside. I decided to try one of the portable airbrush spray booths. Here are my initial impressions.

The spray booth has a great set of LED lights on the top and sides. It has a small but useful manual turntable. There are two switches. One switch turns the lights on and off. The other is a three-position switch for high/low/off for the dual fans.

It comes with a six-foot vent hose that is less flexible than I like. I will probably change it with a dryer hose.

The ad claims 4 cubic meters/minute of fume extraction. I don't know if that is accurate but I was happy with the way it sucked the fumes away.  I still don't know how well the filter will hold up with the spray acrylic. Time will tell.

The size is adequate for 90% of the projects I cut. I wish it were just a little larger. The basket in the photo above is eight inches.

The real test is how well it keeps the odor from migrating upstairs. I finished the basket above with three coats of spray acrylic. I had the fans on high and the unit was just sitting on the floor vented out the window. Up close I could detect some smell but it was definitely less than normal. The positive news is that I did not hear my wife yelling to take it outside.
