Decorative Rooster Weathervane Scroll Saw Pattern.

I hope everyone had a safe and pleasant Memorial Day. 

Today's pattern is a decorative rooster weathervane. It is designed to rotate and could be used outdoors with some modifications. I used a wooden dowel on mine. A metal rod would be a better choice for the outdoors. You might also consider using a bearing in the pivot cup so it rotates more smoothly. Of course, you need to use good exterior paint for outdoor use. I was thinking of this as a deck weathervane or a fence post mount. Use your imagination.

Kitchen Art and Frog Kiss Me Scroll Saw Patterns

Each of these kitchen framed art pieces is 7" X 7". All the parts are 1/4" thick. This is one of those projects that might look good painted. 


Here is another pattern for today.

This little frog was a piece of free clipart I found. He was just a drawing so I broke him up into layers. 
All the pieces are 1/4" thick.

The Highland Woodworker Interviews Judy Gale Roberts.

This video was posted on YouTube back on May 8th. Somehow I missed it then but I found it today so I wanted to share it with you all. 

The is another interview with Judy Gale Roberts. She goes into considerable detail about the process of intarsia and how she got started with the art form. The video I shared the other day on Judy was done very well also but I think this one has more information for those of you who may be interested in Intarsia.

As a side note, The Highland Woodworker YouTube channel is a site that all wood crafters should subscribe to. Charles Brock hosts the show and does a great job of highlighting the talents of the craftsman/women he is interviewing. It is refreshing to see an interviewer who asks a question and then gets out of the way and lets the artist talk. If you have not seen this channel then do yourself a favor and check it out.

3D Hummingbirds and Flower Scroll Saw Pattern.

I designed this pattern for someone who was going to cut it with a laser. All the parts are 1/8" thick except the base. The pattern will also work fine cut on a scroll saw. Stack-cutting the two birds will make the cut easier and quicker.
