This "Be My Valentine" pattern is five layers thick and cut from 1/8" thick Baltic birch plywood. You can simplify the pattern by cutting fewer layers and using 1/4" thick plywood.

The pattern has two sizes. The small pattern is 8" wide and the larger pattern is 10" wide.

Do you have excess vibration?

There are quite a few problems that can cause excess vibration while cutting on a scroll saw. When troubleshooting it is usually best to try simple solutions first. This one is super simple and a very common cause of excess vibration. If you have your scroll saw on a stand it is important to check that the nuts and bolts in the stand are tight.

Even one loose bolt can cause more vibration than you might expect. Of course, you want to check the nuts and bolts as you are doing the first assembly. It is also a good idea to check the bolts on a somewhat regular basis. They can vibrate loose after some use of the saw.

This came to my mind today as I was reassembling one of my saws at the new shop. After I set it in place I gave it a quick test cut. The vibration was definitely more than normal. A quick check of the bolts solved the problem. I had left one completely loose.

I probably get questions about vibrations a couple times a month. I always suggest the above and often never hear back. It fixes the problem many times.
