These cute decorative kitchen tiles are 5.5" X 5.5" and cut from 1/4" thick wood. In the simulated image, I am showing the backer board painted distressed blue and the tile distressed white. I like the idea of crackle paint for these tiles. I feel it gives a country effect. A thin wash of paint could also look nice.
You could also eliminate the backer board and use 3/4" thick wood for the tiles.

I really appreciate all the interest in the new digital download pattern catalog I posted yesterday. Sales were very good and the system seemed to work well. I did not receive any complaints about the download process. I am using a service named E-junkie to host the file. So far they have been a good service to work with. They are using the Amazon cloud servers to host the file and just supplying the front end. That should make for reliable service.
