This small layered cross is five layers thick of 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. The base is cut from 1/4" Thick BB plywood.
For those of you who are new to the scroll saw let me give you a tip. Cutting very thin wood can be much more difficult than you might expect. The thin wood does not give the blade any resistance so it has a tendency to overcut. One technique to help add some resistance is to stack cut two boards at a time.
Cut two boards of equal size. Wrap the two boards in tape to hold them together. Apply the pattern on top of the tape. Not only will find it easier to cut, but you will also cut two projects in the time of one.
