This may not be a very exciting pattern but some may find it useful. This pattern book is 94 pages of a basic bold font sized from 1" tall to 6" tall. Both letters and numbers are included.
I know that some of you do not like using the computer to make patterns so this will allow you to print the characters without sizing them yourself. If you use a common size you could even cut a set of templates in hardboard that can be traced onto the wood. It would be a feat to creat all six sizes of templates but it is possible.
All print drivers allow you to only print the current page. Open the pattern and scroll to the page of the character you need. Select print. Under (Pages to Print), select (Current). To make sure the page you wanted to be printed look at the preview window. That is what will print. Repeat for each character you need.
Safety Checkup:
This is just a quick reminder to check your shop and entire property for possible fire hazards. While you are at it do a complete safety check.
Just about every year I get an email from someone telling me a story about a serious fire or accident involving their workshop. These can be life-changing events. You cannot prevent every accident but it is worth the effort to prevent as many as possible. A safety inspection does not take that long and it may keep you and your family alive.
Most safety issues can be repaired easily and with little expense. If you run into an expensive repair that you cannot afford then shut it down until you find a solution.
Just a few things to check for a possible fire hazard:
Electrical cords and power outlets
Chemical storage and shelf life.
Space heaters for proper operation.
Proper chemical contaminated rag disposal.
Fire extinguisher life.
While doing your inspection check a few of these items.
Tripping hazards.
Replace or sharpen dull blades.
Check for proper space to use power tools.
Proper clothing and shoes in the shop.
Safety equipment. Dust mask, eye protection, hearing protection.
Safe environment. Dust collection and filtering. Good ventilation when using chemicals.
These are just a few suggestions to make your experience in the shop safer. There are many resources
online that give safety tips. Here is a link to shop safety videos on YouTube. Some are valuable and some are not so great. Use what makes sense to you or seek out professional help.
