I believe these would also look great cut from Corian. It is important to choose the correct blade when cutting Corian. I use a skip tooth blade.
Corian can accept temperatures up to 212 degrees F without sustaining damage. Both wood and Corian trivets will be damaged with too high temperatures. That's better than damaging your countertop.
