Summer is fast approaching here in the US. Spending time outside on the deck and watching the sun go down is just what I need after a long winter.
I have been working on the backyard for the last couple of weeks. It is pretty much a blank slate.
We had to get new patio furniture and a grill to get started. Now I am just in the make it comfortable mode.
I bought myself an outdoor speaker so I could drive my neighbors crazy with my country music. The closest neighbors are much younger than us and I think it may have been the first time they have heard Hank Williams 'Hey Good Looking'. 👈Click that link for a good time. 😁
I cut the parts from 1/2" thick MDF. I used a router to give the edges a nice round-over. I applied a couple coats of black paint and it is ready to add to my deck rail. I will probably add a couple of coats of spar polyurethane just for added protection from the elements.
It is designed to attach with screws under the deck rail. It could also be used under the arm of a wood outdoor chair. Under a work table or even a desk.

Time to get ready for the 4th of July celebrations. This segmentation flag pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is 10.25" wide and the large pattern is 14" wide.
You can cut all the flag parts from a single board. Sand a bevel on all the edges. Use a light paint wash to color the boards. Glue the boards onto the backer board.
