I designed all 22 of these Christmas ornaments with no interior cuts with one exception. The 2022 ornament has one interior cut. Simply cut the ornament and drill the hanger hols and they are ready to hang.
I wanted to keep these simple so you could get the kids involved. If they are old enough then maybe they can help cut an ornament. If not then let them paint the ornaments.
Another option is to paint them a single color and write on them with a paint pen. I cut the ornament below in under two minutes so you can make several in a setting. I painted it white and added the painted letters.
What software do I use to design my scroll saw patterns?
I get this question a few times a month. I'll tell you what I use then I'll tell you what I recommend to most people who are just getting started.
I use CorelDRAW for all of my pattern work. I have used it for many years and still find it the perfect software for the kind of work I do. CorelDraw is graphic design software. It is intended for graphic designers who do everything from magazine design to corporate logos. It is extremely powerful but also rather intuitive to use. The problem is that for most people getting started it is too expensive. The full version is almost $500. There are also education editions if you qualify and a standard edition without some features. They are both still rather expensive to get started with.
Let me now tell you what I recommend for learning the process. Inkscape is a free graphics design software that is also very powerful. It is powerful but it is just not as user-friendly as CorelDRAW. It lacks a few features that I need so I don't use it for my work.
If you want to make scroll saw patterns give Inkscape a try first. There is a significant learning curve but for pattern design, we only use black-and-white drawings. That cuts down on the learning curve because these programs are full of color tools that we don't need.
After you install Inkscape you may be overwhelmed if you don't have prior experience with this type of software. The good news is that Inkscape has a very large following so there are plenty of tutorials available on YouTube. Many of them are terrible but if you keep looking you will find people who actually know how to do a video tutorial.

PLEASE, make sure that you select an ornament style for each name entered. After the order form is complete scroll to the bottom and hit the SUBMIT Button.
I will complete the order and email you the patterns as a PDF just like all the patterns in my catalog. You will not need to pay for the patterns until they are delivered. If you are pleased with the patterns there will be a payment link in the email. There will also be an address to send cash or check payments
My goal is to complete the orders within three days. As the holiday season gets into full swing I may need more time. I will keep times posted on the blog.
