Countdown to Christmas Scroll Saw Pattern.

Count the days until Christmas with this Christmas tree counter.

The dials are cut from 3/4" thick wood. The rest of the project is 1/4" thick BB plywood. I include the paper tape to wrap around the ten-sided dials. I just used spray adhesive to glue on the paper tape. I then sprayed it with acrylic to add some protection. If the paper dial hangs over the edge a little then use a razor blade to trim it off.

If had a bit more time I would probably paint the tree green and the arrows red.

If you don't feel the paper dial is permanent enough then consider paint markers to draw on the numbers. I would spray the wood dial with a sealer before painting the numbers so the paint does not bleed.

Because the thicknesses of wood can vary, test fit all the pieces before adding glue.

Tommy from the Twin Oaks YouTube Channel makes my Christmas Fret Box.

Tommy has been posting scrollsaw videos for over a year now and occasionally he uses one of my patterns. This video is his cut of my Christmas Fret Box pattern. Tommy is a skilled craftsman so there is always something to learn from his videos.

Take a few minutes to watch the video then leave him a comment and hit the thumbs-up button.,

Beautiful work from the Klingspor Woodworking Extravaganza Show

During the Klingspor Woodworking show last week the Carolina Scrollers club had a contest. They used one of my wooden vase patterns and were allowed to edit the pattern to make it their own design. Jim Meachum was the leading vote-getter but they were all winners in my book. Jim's vase is the one with the hummingbird, in the front center. Visitors to the Carolina Scrollers booth were asked to vote.

If you live in the Carolina area, this is a great group of craftsmen and women. I was lucky enough to meet several of them a few years ago at the Klingspo Extravaganza show. Make sure you check out the club web page and consider joining. You will meet some great people.
