Segmentation Snowman Scroll Saw Pattern.

This segmentation snowman pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is just under 8" tall and the large pattern is 10.25" tall.

For those of you who are not familiar with segmentation patterns here is a brief explanation.

Segmentation patterns are cut from a single board. Think of it like cutting a puzzle. The edges of each piece are contour sanded to give separation of the pieces when put back together. Each piece can optionally be painted or stained. All the pieces are reassembled and glued to a backer board.

Optional Paint Guide.

Where I work:

When we moved from Kentucky to Indiana last year Patty wanted to find a house where I could have my office and shop in a climate-controlled basement. She found our house and the basement was half finished and half unfinished. It was perfect for what I needed. I'll give you a quick tour,

My office and man cave are in the finished part of the basement. This is a pretty large area. It is a walk-out basement with large windows looking out onto a wooded area. One of the windows is just to the left of my computer station. I spend a lot of time here.

This door leads to the unfinished part of the basement so my shop is close to my computer station. I can move quickly between editing patterns and test-cutting the pattern.

The unfinished part of the basement is divided into two sections with a small hallway in the middle.
This photo is just to the right inside the door in the photo above. Five scroll saws on this side of the shop. These are the ones that don't get used much any longer. This wall has my portable sink, miter saw station and shelf storage.

On this side of the shop, I do my video reviews. You see a new laser waiting to be reviewed on the table. I have three or four lasers waiting to be reviewed. I wish we had as many new scroll saws coming out as we do lasers. I get requests to do laser reviews almost weekly. I turn most of them down.

I also have a maker section on this side of the shop. 3D printer and x-carve CNC machine.

Here is my camera rig,.

Moving to the other side of the shop we go through a short hallway. Supply storage is on the right of the hall.

Pegboard tool storage on the other side of the hall.

On this side of the shop, I have my two daily driver scrolls saws. There are a lot of hours sitting at this station. My two favorite scroll saws are the Seyco and the Pegas. Both are wonderful machines.

On the back wall, I have my sanding station and drill press. Table saw in the middle, dust collector in the corner with a cyclone.

The other wall has a workbench and band saw. I really miss not having enough room to have the workbench in the center of the room. There is a DeWalt planer to the right of the table saw. There is no good place for it to say.

Working in a basement means working around pipes, water heaters, and furnaces. After a year in this shop, I am still trying to get things where they work best.

There is a little cubby off to the side under the step to the first floor. I have a paint spray booth here that needs to be vented but there is no easy access to the outside. I'll probably have to get a fume extractor.

As you can see, I have a nice area to work in. It is a little broken up but I don't really need more. My wife gave me a wonderful gift by allowing me to have the whole basement. The best parts are the temperature stays at 70 degrees year-round. I have a beautiful view out my window from my computer station. I also love that I can walk out of the basement to the backyard to stretch my legs.
