Novice-Level Crucifixion Cross Scroll Saw Pattern.

I was asked to make a novice-level Crucifixion cross by a reader. This three-layer cross has veining but no interior cuts. The pattern comes in three sizes but I would only consider the largest pattern to be novice-level.

The crosses are 9.5" tall, 5.5" tall, and 3.75" tall. The two smaller crosses are cut from 1/8" thick wood so they will be a bit more of a challenge.

These crosses are perfect projects for you laser folks. The small cross cuts in just a couple of minutes.
Laser cut from 1/8" thick bass plywood.

Second Pattern Today. Christmas in July:

Please be careful for all of you in the USA who are experiencing the extreme heat wave. I saw one estimate of 120 degrees F for Las Vegas later this week. Many areas have been well over 100F. I know this is keeping many of you indoors and out of your shops. The projects will be there when the temps cool down a bit so stay out of the heat.

I thought you might enjoy a little Christmas-in-July pattern to help keep your mind off of the heat.

Papa's Workshop offers a $5 discount on the popular "Lifter" Accessory.

If you own or are considering the purchase of the DeWalt DW788 then consider this offer. The DeWalt is a wonderful saw but it has one annoying flaw. When you raise the upper arm to replace the bade the arm does not stay up.  Scrollers have resorted to placing a block of wood under the area to keep it up but this is also a pain.

Every time I mention this I get an email from guys telling me that to keep the arm up, just tighten the screw on the left side of the saw. This does work but I have been told by a DeWalt tech that the technique is not recommended and can, over time cause damage. I think there is a better solution. The Lifter.

Watch the video below to see this in action on the DeWalt scroll saw. It also works on the older Delta saw but the newer Delta has a built-in solution.

If you are interested in the discount simply email Frank at papa@papasworkshop.org. Tell him you want the Scrollsaw Workshop discount code and he will send one to you.

Here is the web page where the product is sold.  https://papasworkshop.org/

I have used The Lifter and it works as advertised. It is a nice product and eliminates the one frustration of the DeWalt DW788.
