Army Men Play Set Scroll Saw Pattern.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

I am still working to get the USB catalog updated. There are currently several orders for the product. I do not want to ship the USB drive until I have it updated with the patterns from 2023. I am shooting for January 15th as my ship date. I will email invoices as soon as the drive is ready to ship. Thanks for your patience. Should you allow your children to play army? When I was young it was considered patriotic to pretend you were fighting in the army and protecting our country. Values change and different opinions are formed. I believe it is up to the parent of the child to make value judgments for them. That is why I published this pattern. It will get some pushback so I wanted to explain my position.

This pattern is several pages long. The men are approximately 4.5" tall. You can cut a few or all of the soldiers or vehicles. All the parts are simple to cut with very little detail.

 If you have a seamstress in the family you can add the cloth insert.
 

 Use metallic paint for a better gloss effect.

I did not add too much realism to the crown pattern. Just enough to resemble the one I modeled the pattern after. The diameter of the base of the crown is eight inches. When assembled the crown is about 11.25" tall. The parts are 1/4" and 1/2" thick.

In the rendered images above I tried to show metallic paint. You probably will not get this much gloss but I think it is worth the effort. If you can add the cloth material insert of the crown then the realism really gets enhanced. My rendering of the cloth insert leaves a little to be desired but it was the best I could do. If you are good at sewing then this is a nice extra touch.

I designed the pattern as a showpiece and not a toy. It is probably a little too delicate for a toy.
