I am no expert on Solar Eclipse so please read the PDF linked below.
You cannot use solar glasses and a telescope. The telescope needs special solar filters.
Read the guidelines. Read the guidelines. Your eyes will be damaged if you make a silly mistake.

Patty, her sister, and her nephew will head a few miles north this morning to watch the solar eclipse.
Here is the path of the eclipse below. Our time of eclipse will be close to 3pm Eastern time. The area is expected to be flooded with tourists so we are packing a couple of meals just in case. 

The Solar eclipse pattern is 11.5 " tall. There are two layers at 1/4" thick.

The racehorse pattern is 7.75" wide and also cut from 1/4" thick wood.

Here is our area school summer break starts in June. If you or your child has a favorite teacher then maybe this would be a nice gift for the teacher. The Best Teacher Trophy is 7" tall. The front and back layers are 1.4" thick. The center layer is 2/3" thick. 

The individual layers are not difficult to cut but the challenge is to make them match up when glued together. Cut carefully on the pattern line or you will have some difficult sanding to do after gluing up the layers. 

The steam engine pattern also has three layers. Two 1/4" layers and one 3/4" layer. The engine is about 9: long.
