 Three Patterns Today.

Some days nothing goes right then the next day it is just easy. The other day I could not get a pattern completed to save my life. These three patterns took a total of about three hours to design. They just popped out with almost no effort. Part of that is that I have developed new tools that speed things up but that can't explain it all. The day that I could not get a pattern completed, I used the same tools.

Creativity is a strange beast. You hear stories about a hit song being written in the back seat of a car in ten minutes. How do things like that happen? Maybe I had a bad night's sleep or the moon was just in the wrong phase. Whatever the reason I like these days better.

I have had a few folks ask why I don't save the patterns and post them the next day when I have multiple. When I have tried to do that I see things I don't like and go back and edit the pattern to try to fix what I don't like. I almost always make it worse. Best to push them out. A few times that has caused spelling errors but that is better than getting into a never-ending edit.

Pattern 1
The first pattern today is what I call the Wedding Trellis. It can be cut as is or edited to be personalized. The words, "Two Become One" can be replaced with "Mr and Mrs Shuford" for example. You could also add the date of the wedding. The trellis will take a while to cut but it needed extra ornamentation because it is a wedding keepsake.

Pattern 2
These stacked ring baskets always get nice reactions from people who receive them. They normally ask how they are made. They are easily cut and show well. This basket pattern comes in two sizes.

Pattern 3
I like designing these 3d patterns. The dino skeleton is one of my favorites. I have no idea what type of dinosaur he was but he looks mean. Kind of like a T-Rex but not quite. Let's just call him a meanosaurus. His legs might be a bit fragile so consider using plywood for the model for extra strength. In the image, I simulated stone spray paint.

Information:
I still receive questions about what species of wood I use in a pattern. The images are simulated renderings that I make from the pattern. No real wood is used.
