Boxing is often called The Sweet Science by insiders to the sport. It is easy to believe that boxing is simply two tough guys knocking each other around until one gets knocked out. Okay, that is sometimes the case but the great boxers are different. They often implement a strategy and psychology that is more complex than most people see.

There have been a lot of great fighters but Muhammad Ali took the sport to a new level. He was likely the smartest fighter in the ring but he could also take a punch, defend, and move around the ring better than any boxer I have seen. Some of his fights were over before the first bell rang. He could talk a weak fighter into losing because they were confused and scared.

The layered boxing pattern is 10.25" long and seven layers wide. You can cut it from 1/4" or 1/2" thick wood.

I tend to enjoy summer better than winter. I don't hate winter but I do love the chance to spend more time outdoors during the summer. Speaking of the outdoors. I mowed my lawn yesterday. I started around 11am and it was already 90+ degrees. It was hot but I still enjoyed being outside. I don't often have that opportunity in below-freezing temps in the winter. I am lucky to have a riding mower so I get a little breeze and don't over-exert myself.

Tyler always does a nice job showing the process of cutting the projects. In this video, he makes one of my Segmented Bowl patterns. Here is the link to that pattern. If you have yet to attempt a bowl on the scroll saw this video will give you the techniques to try one.

Arcade Playground

I have another new game in the Arcade. This one is called Quick Draw. How twitchy are your fingers?
When the outlaws face off you have to be quick on the trigger or you take a bullet.
The computer draws his gun between 1/8 of a second and 1/2 of a second.
Make sure you wait for the green light to draw your weapon or you lose.
