I have two very different patterns for you today. The first is a decorative box cut from 1/4" thick wood. It is 9" long. The second pattern is a spooky witch skull for Halloween. It is also cut from 1/4" thick wood. It is 10.25" tall.

I lost my fish. Lucy and Ethel

Some of you will find this odd but I am heartbroken over the loss of my fish. This photo is of Lucy and Ethel from earlier this year. Lucy had grown to about 9" long and Ethel was just a little longer. They would eat out of my hand and the aquarium is close to my desk so I spent most days watching them.

I do a 20% water change every two weeks and clean the filter. I have done that process dozens of times and never had an issue. This time something went wrong. About two hours after the cleaning I noticed that they were not well. I checked the water temperature and used test strips to check the water quality. Everything was good but by this time Ethel was gone and Lucy looked like she had a chance to make it. Unfortunately, the next morning she was also gone.

It had not dawned on me how much I had become attached to these fish. This morning I have to go bury them and that will be difficult.
