This Santa Pattern is small enough that you could sit it on your desk. Santa is only 5.5" tall and the whole project is just 9.5" wide,


I am recognizing the fact that the U.S. has stopped minting the penny. The first official U.S. penny was minted in 1793 at the United States Mint. That is a history of almost 232 years. The penny has changed in size and ornamentation a few times, but the last one was minted this November 2025.

It is my understanding that the last batch of minted pennies will not go into circulation but will be auctioned off later. It will be interesting to see what price they will bring at auction.

Deer Mount Scroll Saw Pattern

This buck mount is 10.25" tall, and the pattern calls for 3/4" and 1/4" thick wood.

I have to tell you that I am no hunter. I have no issue with hunters taking what they can use; I just can't shoot an animal. When I was a teenager, I was walking to work down a railroad track. I saw a rabbit over in a field, probably 30 feet away. I picked up a rock and threw it at the rabbit with no expectation of hitting the rabbit. To my shock, the rock hit the rabbit in the head, and it died. To say I was horrified would be an understatement. I am one of those people who would last a few days if the food supply went away and I had to get my own meat.

Dino Size Comparison Pattern
A full-grown human averages around 5–6 feet tall and maybe 150–250 pounds, while an adult T. rex was on a whole different scale: roughly 35–40 feet long, around 12–13 feet tall at the hips (so its head could be 15–20 feet up when it lifted it), and often estimated at several tons in weight. Standing next to one would feel less like meeting a “big animal” and more like parking beside a loaded dump truck that can bite 😄—your entire body would be smaller than just its head, and one of its footsteps could be about as long as you are tall.

The T-rex pattern is 10.25" long, and the pattern calls for 1/4" and 3/4" thick wood.

Angel Scroll Saw Pattern

The Angel Pattern is about 7.5" Tall and calls for 1/4" and 1/2" thick wood.

The Faith Cross pattern is 8" wide and calls for 1/4" thick wood. There are four layers.

Thanksgiving Survived

You’ve gotta admit, Thanksgiving is the greatest holiday ever. It’s the one magical day each year where you’re basically encouraged to eat like it’s an Olympic event, then pass out on the couch like a full-grown potato while everyone in the room laughs because your belt just applied for early retirement. 😄

Patty and I hosted Thanksgiving and had about 20 family members. We had a wonderful lunch. Everyone brought their specialty side dish, and they were all really good. Several people in our family are great cooks, so lunch was fantastic.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, my definition of wonderful is second helpings of macaroni and turkey. I was able to skip the nap, but that was only because my belly hurt from all the food I ate.
