Remember when a Saturday night meant going out and doing something fun? Now it’s all about comfy clothes, takeout, and finding something good to watch before you fall asleep halfway through it. You used to hop off the couch without thinking—these days, it’s a full production with sound effects. The music you grew up with is somehow “classic,” and your favorite jeans must’ve shrunk while hanging in the closet. But honestly, getting older isn’t all bad. You learn to laugh at the creaks, appreciate naps, and realize that comfort beats cool every single time.

When you accomplish something that you were able to do years ago, it feels like a big win, even if it was not quite as well done as when you were younger. I'll be 68 on my next birthday. My brain still thinks I can walk across the street to the park and play basketball. The truth is, my middle school-aged great niece beats me like a drum.

Getting older actually has a lot of perks. You stop sweating the small stuff and start focusing on what really makes you happy. You care less about impressing people and more about doing things your own way. You learn to enjoy slow mornings, a good meal, and moments of peace that used to feel boring. You’ve got stories that could fill a book and enough experience to dodge the drama you once stumbled into. In the end, it’s all about good times, family, and soaking up every bit of the day. Oh, and don't forget about the nap.😎

The dancing couple is a little over 7" tall. It is cut from 1/4" thick wood and is assembled in layers.

The Candle Holder Pattern will hold up to a 5" diameter candle. It is cut from 1/4" thick wood.

For those of you who celebrate Halloween… may the night crawl with things unseen, and may every whisper in the dark be meant for you. 🎃💀


Patty, Kellie, Shane, and I will be sitting outside, handing out candy to all the little
ghosts and goblins who stop at our house. It should be a scary night.

Okay, okay. Today is Halloween, and it might be too late to cut these scary patterns, but I'm just in a spooky mood. Patty, Kellie, Shane, and I will hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters tonight. If the weather permits, I think we will be sitting outside to watch all the neighborhood children in their costumes. When nobody is watching, I might sneak some candy out of our stash. Don't tell Patty.

I won't go into detail about these patterns, but if you like them, go ahead and do the download to save for next year. To be honest, these are fairly easy patterns, so if you have some free time today, give one a try.


Halloween Ghost Shoot Game.

Before and after the children go out trick-or-treating tonight, let them play this Ghost Shooter game. It is simple to play but gets more challenging as time passes. It might not be good for very small children, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
