Tutankhamun, often called the "Boy King," was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty who ruled from about 1332 to 1323 BCE. He ascended the throne at just around 9 years old and died when he was about 18 or 19. His reign was relatively short and not especially notable in terms of military or political accomplishments. However, he is credited with helping to restore traditional Egyptian religion and art after the radical changes implemented by his probable father, Akhenaten, who had shifted Egypt toward monotheism with the worship of the sun disk Aten.

What truly catapulted Tutankhamun to global fame was the discovery of his nearly intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922. The tomb was filled with thousands of priceless artifacts, including the iconic gold funerary mask that has become one of the most famous symbols of ancient Egypt. The sheer wealth of items found, combined with the legend of a “curse” befalling those who disturbed the tomb, sparked worldwide interest and turned Tutankhamun into a household name. Despite his brief rule, he remains one of the most studied and celebrated pharaohs in modern history.

The King Tut pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is 10.25" tall, and the large pattern is close to 14" tall. The pattern calls for 1/4" for both layers, but that can be changed if you like.

There are some weak areas to cut, so you must be cautious. The eyes and nose are both delicate cuts. Use high-quality plywood to be safer with these cuts.
