This shelf is 7 inches wide and 5 inches deep. I cut this pattern from walnut. You could optionally carve the grapes and vine or use a wood burner to bring out the details.Those of you that have not used walnut should give it a try. It is one of my favorite woods to work with. Walnut cuts like butter and will hold nice detail. Walnut does have a tendency to burn if your blade is not nice and sharp. Cover the pattern with clear box tape to reduce the burning.
