What a great gift.

I received this picture and email from Bill. Thanks Bill you made my day.

Ok, it’s all your fault! It started out innocently enough. I took a picture of our 4 year old Granddaughter at a wedding, and it turned out beautiful.

Looking at your scroll saw picture puzzle patterns, I decided it would make a good puzzle. Wanting to avoid problems with small parts and a 4 year old, I enlarged the pattern for a 4X6 to 8X10 and cut that out on a 3/8 inch birch plywood base. It looked good, so I decided to make a birthday present for her out of it.

Then I decided it might be best to put a frame on a plywood base to hold the whole thing. That sparked a trip to Lowes from which I returned with a 1X3 of red oak. That progressed into the finished project with a fitted frame, roman ogee edging, plywood backing fitted into rabbits on the back of the frame, and felt material glued to the back of the whole thing.

This is what always happens. A small project started from a simple idea turns into a production. Thanks for the inspirations! I have high hopes that this will become an heirloom gift for our Granddaughter.
