Scrollsaw Workshop Month of July giveaway.

Here is the video of the drawing for the July final giveaway. The prize for the giveaway was "Making Wooden Baskets on your Scroll Saw". It's a nice book. Thanks to everyone who entered. We again had over 5000 entries. Sorry for being late with the giveaway.

I'll pick a new giveaway in the next couple days so keep the entries coming for a chance to win.

If you are reading this in the email newsletter you may not see the video. Please visit the blog and watch in the daily post section.

Round Butterfly Box Scroll Saw Pattern.

This is a delicate project. It probably is more of a show piece than a useful box but I like it. The wings are cut from 1/8" stock so you should stack cut them for better control and to speed up the work. The body is 3/8" dowel stock that is tapered to the tail.

I used a 1/8" drill bit in a drill press to cut the slots in the body for the wings. It will be tough to make the slots without a drill press. The wings are delicate so you need the slots to hold the wings securely.

I sanded one side of the dowel flat so the body can be glued to the top of the box.
