I know many of you are race fans. I get email from you guys all the time. My wife and most of her family are big race fans. Her uncle was a NASCAR driver in the 60's. His name was Earl Balmer. Earl had a reputation of being a lead footed driver. He would push the car hard into the corner. So hard that he often did not come out of the corner. He did have one Sprint Cup Series victory in a qualifier at Daytona in 1966. A few of the drivers behind Earl in his victory were, Ned Jarrett, David Pearson, A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti and Bobby Allison. Here is a link to the
race results for his victory.
Earl left a passion for the sport with many of the Balmer family. I wife seldom misses a televised race.
