I get lots of pattern requests. Most often they want something to say thank you to someone who has touched their lives. Many times the victim never gets a chance to say thank you to the EMT team who came to their rescue. By the time the victim has recovered the EMT team is long gone.
A couple weeks ago I received an email from a gentleman. He was in his late 70's and lived with his wife of 40 plus years. He told how they always rose early to have breakfast together. This particular morning his wife did not feel well and decided to stay in bed for a while. He went out to fix their breakfast but when he returned to their bedroom she was unresponsive.
He called 911 and they dispatched an ambulance. It took the EMT team lass than 20 minutes to reach their house. They lived outside the city so this was an amazing feat according to the husband. Fortunately after a couple nights at the hospital she was fine.
He was so impressed with the two EMT's that he just wanted a way to say thanks for their help. Of course he was a woodworker so he wanted to make them something with his own hands. He ask my help with this part of his gift. He is going to finish it off by attaching this piece to a larger plaque. He is having it laser engraved with a thank you note and the names of the EMT's. I'm sure they will appreciate his thoughtfulness.
