I bought the watch strap from Walmart for $5. It is a one piece nylon strap. You can see in the picture that I overlooked matching the metal on the clock insert with the metal on the band. I'll order a different clock insert to fix that but you should pay attentions as you buy your parts.
I have a few different mini-clock inserts of different quality. The economy model does not fit as tight in the cut out as the deluxe model. Either way you may want to glue the fit-up into the cutout. The holes goes all the way through the body so you still have access to the stem and the battery. If you want to see more pictures of the project just open the pattern. It will make it easier to understand the project.
After I posted the pattern I decided to include a slightly smaller watch body in the pattern book. The outer ring has been reduced to show a little less wood. I couldn't decide which was better so I just put them both in the pattern. Then I decided to reduce the clasp section also so there are now three different watch body sizes. You can decide which looks best.
Each digital book is available for download immediately after payment.
