I used Aspen wood for this project. This was the first time I had ever cut Aspen. It is a bland wood without much character but is cuts okay. It did have quite a bit of tear-out even with a scroll reverse blade though. Because it is so light colored it will make a nice contrast wood when used with walnut or other darker species.
