2016 NCAA Basketball National Champions. Villanova Wildcats.

I love sports. Every once in a while something so spectacular happens that it will be remembered forever. Tonight the Villanova Wildcats VS North Carolina Tar Heels national championship game was absolutely that spectacular. It was a sensational game from start to finish but the finish was stunning. UNC made a great run to eliminate a Nova 10 point lead. Marcus Paige of UNC double clutched a 3 point shot with 5 seconds left to tie the game.

It looked like UNC had the momentum. They just needed to defend for 4.7 seconds to go to over time. Nova had other ideas however. Ryan Arcidiacono brought the ball up the court. With time running out and his defender all over him he made the decision to kick the ball out to Kris Jenkins. The big guy was 25 feet from the basket. He caught the ball in stride, raised up and took the shot with less than 1 second on the clock. With a perfect flick of the wrist the ball left his hand. The horn sounded to end the game with the ball in the air. .3 seconds later the ball softly fell through the net. Championship to Villanova.

Congratulations to the Wildcats. This pattern is for you.

You also have to give North Carolina much credit for being part of one of the best games ever in a championship contest.
