Just a note about updates to the blog. I just spent the last fifteen plus hours making changes to the blog. Most of the changes are under the hood and were made to make the blog load faster. I think I succeeded with the speed up. It's still not perfect but it's better.
The next most important update was changing the number of daily posts per page. It was set at 7 and now it is 2. This shortens the page and also speed up loading. To make it easier to navigate back to past pages I changed the pagination UI. It's now easier to navigate to the older posts that have fallen off the blog. At the end of the second daily post you will find the following page selector. You can easily go all the back to May 1, 2007 the first day of the blog. The blog is now 1,352 pages long with 2 post per page.
I also changed the location of almost everything on the blog. In the past the daily posts were in the middle of the page. This caused trouble when you were navigating back to past pages. Now they start at the top so when you navigate you don't have to scroll down to start reading the next post.
All the other content is now located below the daily posts or in the left side bar. I will probably make a few more changes after I make sure I have not broken anything.
I hope these changes make your experience more enjoyable when you visit the Scrollsaw Workshop Blog.
