Gwinnett Woodworkers Association Meeting:
I had a great time presenting at the GWA meeting last Monday night. My wife asked me early Monday if I was nervous to speak in front of the group. I told her I was not because I thought of these folks as friends. For me that is exactly how I felt when I began my presentation. The group was welcoming and I hope not bored.
I wanted to talk about some non-traditional scroll saw subjects so I presented metal cutting with the scroll saw. We talked about cutting coins and copper jewelry. I think it went well. At least there were lots of questions which usually means people are interested.
When the subject of my 3D printer came up I was very surprised at how many questions there were. I thought that subject might not be of much interest but several people had questions which I hope I was able to answer successfully.
Towards the end of the meeting we talked about the new yet to be released released Seyco scroll saw. As expected there was quite a bit of interest in the machine. I had only put my hands on the machine that weekend so I was talking without much experience but it's obvious that it is a quality product.
I was worried I might not be able to fill the time allotted but I should have known better. When I get started talking about scrolling I don't know when to shut-up. I could see Hans giving me the wrap it up sign and noticed I had ran over the scheduled time by several minutes.
Thanks to the GWA scrollers for allowing me to visit their meeting. They did video the meeting so when they release it I'll post it here also.
The group meets at Peachtree Woodworkers Supply. It is a wonderful facility and a great place to have a meeting. Here are a few pictures from the meeting.
