Scroll Saw Nativity Box Pattern.

http://www.stevedgood.com/estore/estore.html
This little box opens to a big surprise. The box is created from six rings, a bottom and a two piece lid. The rings are only four inches in diameter so it's not a wood hog project. All the pieces are cut from 1/4" thick wood. I think this makes a perfect Christmas desk decoration. Open the lid and use it for the base.

The trick to making this project is to get the outside of the box sanded flush after everything is glued up. The more accurate you cut the rings the easier the sanding will be.

If you are not sure how this project is assembled just take a look at the pattern and it will make sense.

You only pay after you receive the patterns and are 100% happy.
Patterns will be delivered by email in a pdf format that you can open and print.
I am returning orders within three days at this point.
The top three patterns are $1 each with a five pattern minimum.
The pet ornaments are $2 each with no minimum.
The door wreath is $5 per order. No minimum.
Here is a video showing how to make the segmented Angel ornament.
I do intend to make display boxes for the three regular ornaments. I won't \be making display boxes for the pet ornaments. They prefer to chew on them without the box.

I know that I am biased but I think these will be some of the most appreciated gifts you will give for Christmas. They show the effort and thought you put into a special gift.
Thank you for ordering the patterns.

Do you have trouble finding thin wood to make your scroll saw projects from? Baltic Birch plywood can be a nice substitute for hardwoods for some scroll saw projects. My personalized Christmas ornaments can be cut from BBP.  I would not use it for the segmented angel but all the others would work well.  The 1/4" thick BBP is what I would recommend.
Baltic birch plywood is high grade plywood. Not like you buy in the big box stores. It has more plies and is void free. This makes it very stable and easy to cut.
I just bought 45 sheets of 1/8" X 12" X 12" from Amazon for use on my laser engraver. It came packages well and was very high quality plywood.

Simply Wooden Creations 2017 Scroll Saw Artist Contest:

Russ Claridy from Simply Wooden Creations announced this years Scroll Saw Artist contest last night. This year the theme is scroll saw clocks. Any clock that is made on the scroll saw is fair game. Mini clock to grand father clock. Just make it with a scroll saw and you are good.

The prizes are significant this year. Bear Woods is offering $150 and that will be combined with my donation of $150. That will be given as a gift certificate from Bear Woods to three winners. $150, $100 and $50. Russ is working with other sponsors to add more prizes. Details later.

The contest will run the month of October. Entries will be accepted as a short video or a video slide show. The video will show you creating the project. We can do a tutorial on how to take a series of pictures and turn them into a video for anyone who wants that information. You will need an account at YouTube to upload your video. That is free and easy to setup. I can help with that also if you need it.

Russ will be updating his website with all the details next week. I will post all the rules then.

Feel free to visit my free online catalog to find a clock pattern. Just select the "clocks" category for 18 pages of clock patterns. Design your own clock or find a pattern from another sources.

Russ has been a friend of mine for many years. I would love to see this contest well represented from my readers. If you need any help getting involved just ask.
