Basketball Shooter Game Scroll Saw Pattern.

Watch the Video

I am staying with the theme for this week with another tabletop game. This is a tabletop basketball shooter game. You can put this together in just a couple of hours.

I used a ping pong ball for the basketball. There is 1/2" and 1/4" Baltic birch plywood, The flipper is 1/16" thick acrylic.

I used super glue and spray fixative to attach the string to the ping pong ball.

The acrylic can be difficult to cut on the scroll saw. I sandwich it between two sheets of plywood and the cuts come out smooth. It's also best to drill the holes for the screws before you remove the plywood.

Thanks for the feedback on catalog options:

I had many emails today with suggestions for alternative methods to sell my catalog. It was about 50/50 on people who wanted the thumb drive vs the zip file.

I spent a few hours today researching both options. For the thumb drive option, I ordered a few drives for a test run sometime next week. These will be a first come first serve until I can get a handle on how many I need to stock.

The average download bandwidth in the US is 64Mbps. That would mean that the average possible download time of a 2gb file is under 5 minutes. For a slow 10Mbps, it would be around 30 minutes. That is acceptable.

The more complicated issue is where to host the file. There are tons of options and I have to decide which is the most reliable and cost-efficient. I don't want to host the file on my server because my ISP would freak out if 50 people started to download a 2gb file. My host provides unlimited bandwidth but you quickly find out that unlimited does not actually mean unlimited.

Right now I want to provide both options. That is what I am working on so thanks for all the feedback.

2007-2018 Scrollsaw Workshop Catalog DVD Now Available. $20

$20 plus shipping

For those of you who have been waiting for the update, it is now available to order.

For those of you who are new here are the details.

Every year in January I compile all the scroll saw patterns that I have designed and put them on a DVD. The DVD includes every pattern from 2007-present. Currently, that is over 2,600 patterns.

Why should you buy the DVD? These are the same patterns that are in my free online catalog. You do not have to buy the DVD to have access to the patterns.

The DVD is produced because so many people asked for it. People want to have the patterns available locally. In some cases, they want the patterns for their club library. Others like the ease of searching the patterns on their local computer. Many people buy the DVD just to support what I do.

The #1 reason I have been told that the DVD catalog is needed is that they fear I will go offline and all the pattern will be gone forever.

Whatever your reason I truly appreciate you purchasing the DVD. The sales from this product go a long way to support what I do here on the blog.
