I Proudly Served My COuntry Scroll Saw Pattern.

This one will be a bit of a challenge to cut. The top layer will get fragile especially where the circle meets the top of the wings. Plan out your interior cuts to keep that area as strong as possible until the end.

This is a good pattern to point out that the species of wood you choose can be important for fragile projects. If you choose a wood like red oak for the front layer of this project you will be very lucky to keep it in one piece. The open grain of red oak just won't hold up.

The best solution for the front layer of this project might be Baltic birch plywood. It would be the most stable.

Remember, if it breaks it's not always lost. I have broken hundreds of projects over my 30 plus years of scrolling. Maybe not hundreds but a bunch. :) I am almost always able to save the project. Most of the time a broken piece can be glued and no one will ever see the break.

Something to remember is that when it breaks, throwing it across the shop will usually end the idea of repair. Don't do that.
