Tea Light Candle Holder Scroll Saw Pattern.

Caution: Real candles should be used under constant supervision. Battery-powered flameless tea light candles are available and should be used under non-supervised use.

This tea light candle holder can be cut in just a short session at the saw. It is cut entirely from 1/4" wood. I used one species but you could mix two species for added interest.

There are only four pieces to cut. Even though there are only a few cuts this is still a challenging project. You have five circles to cut. They need to be accurate. Flaws in the circles will be easily noticed. Sand any imperfections if necessary. They don't have to be perfect but they cannot be sloppy.

The slots also need to be cut accurately for a good fit. Check the thickness of your wood. Just because it says it is 1/4" thick does not mean it actually is. Compare the wood thickness to the slot pattern before you start the cut.

Scented Tea Light Candles

If you want to make a nice gift you can include scented tea light candles. Rose, Lavender, Vanilla, and Lemon. 48 pack for $15.39 currently on Amazon

If you only glue the two parts of the top together you can break it down for storage. If that is your plan then cut accurately for a snug fit. Remember that the finish you put on the project will add some thickness.

If you make it as a breakdown unit always blow out the candles before you pick the holder up.

This is not an ad. This is just a site I use to order parts and their service has been good.

I am speaking as a customer. I have no affiliation with eReplacementParts.com. This is not a recommendation based on anything other than as a customer. I cannot help with any problems you may have. Sorry, I have to say that.

I almost always repair my tools myself. I am comfortable doing that because I spent 37 years as a repair tech. If you are not comfortable working on machinery then, by all means, let a qualified service center do the work for you. To be honest, most woodworking tools are pretty easy to work on. If you can troubleshoot which part is defective, replacing it is usually not terribly difficult.

I have a lot of tools. Some of them are pretty old. Sometimes they need a part replaced. I also look up parts for some readers who ask me for help with a broken tool. I have used eReplacementParts on several occasions. I have ordered parts for my woodworking tools, microwave, an old projection television. I think I even ordered the last part I needed for my washing machine. I have used them at least a half dozen times and probably more.

They cover all the major brands and many types of machinery.

Shipping has always been good for parts that were in stock. Not every part will always be in stock. They have a good selection but they won't necessarily have a crankshaft pulley for a 1978 tractor in stock. The map shows the lead time for in-stock parts. They are located in Utah.

Prices are good to very good. I will often price check parts and they have always been competitive. I have seen a couple of parts they sold that were not of the same quality as the original manufacturer. In those cases, the original manufacturer was no longer in business or the tool was discontinued and there were no other options.

I also use Amazon to check for parts. You will be surprised how many parts Amazon has available. For instance here is the DeWalt DW788 scroll saw thumb screw. Amazon price is $20 and eReplacementParts.com has the same part for $13.40. You do have to check the shipping costs before you see which has the best deal. Many Amazon parts ship free. For the thumbscrew, the shipping for eReplacementParts.com makes the total $18.90. The Amazon part ships free so there is only a small difference.

Adding a spindle sander to your shop can greatly improve your curve cutting accuracy. If your curve cut has flaws just magically sand them away.

I have been reasonably impressed with the quality of WEN tools. They are an entry-level brand of a tool with better than entry-level quality. You may not want to use them several hours a day but for most of us part-time woodworkers these are just fine.
