This Welcome Sign pattern comes in two sizes. The small one is 10.5" tall. The large one is 14" tall. The sign is made up of three 1/4" thick layers.
I had a reader ask me about welcome signs. They wanted to know if I ever made signs that were not in the country style. I went back and looked and she was right. All the welcome signs I had designed were either themed or looked like they belonged in a country style home.
She wanted one that was designed to match a Federal-style home. That is what I tried to do with this pattern. I am certainly no architect but I tried to match shapes from Federal-style furniture. In a Federal-style piece of furniture, the flowers would have probably been painted on.
I have no idea if I succeeded but she likes it so I guess that is all that matters. Maybe a few of you can use the pattern also.
Fall Festivals and Holiday Craft shows.
This is the time of year when most crafts are sold. October, November, and December are the hottest months of the year for crafts. If you don't sell your crafts then it is a great time to go look and get inspired by local artists.
Many small events are held all over the country in churches, schools, and street fairs. Watch local bulletins boards and online community forums for these events.
There are also many larger craft shows that are regular yearly events. One place to find festivals and craft events is https://www.fairsandfestivals.net/ This site allows you to enter your search area and find shows that match your search. You may be surprised bu how many there are in your area.
If you have never sold at a craft show then consider giving it a try. It is getting short to build inventory for this year's shows but you can go, scout, the shows and try to pick one that fits your interests.
It is not uncommon for first-time sellers to become disappointed when they don't sell as much as they like. You may not even make your entry fee back. That stings a little but you have to gain the experience before you can make the correct decisions on prices, inventory, display, salse pitch and more. It is not easy but it can be fun. If you do have good sales then that is a big plus.
You do have to go into it upfront knowing that there will be a few folks who are difficult to deal with but there will be many more who will love to see what you have to offer. Meeting people who like what you do is very rewarding and inspiring.
Don't go hog wild the first few times out. You can spend hundreds of dollars on inventory, tents, credit card machines, entry fees and so much more. Start small and get a feel for what you enjoy.
A small church event is perfect if you have never sold before. The small entry fees usually go to help the church or community. School events are much the same as church shows.

You can use last names on the ornaments if you like but remember that the more letters the more
difficult they are to cut. Ten letters and up gets pretty small. If you need to you can enlarge the patterns by 10% to make the interior cuts larger. No special characters are supported. I can get a hyphen in there but it looks odd. It has to connect the two letters so it does not just fall out.
