The news coming out of Australia just keeps getting worse. The last I heard, at least 25 people have died along with an estimated 1 billion animals. Even worse, the bush fires are expected to burn for months to come.
I have spoken to a few of my friends down under and their emotions range from grief to anger. They are grieving the loss of life and property. Some are angry by what they perceive as a lack of response from their government.
The impact of this historic crisis reaches every Australian. An estimated 19.8 million acres have burned. The financial loss will be in the billions. It will take years for the animal population to recover.
