Be Strong Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

This plaque is large. The backer board is twenty inches wide by ten inches tall. Each line of the letters is one inch tall. I am showing the backer board painted black. Paint is optional.

I kept the graphics very simple. I wanted the message to be the standout point of the sign. We are going through times when courage and strength are very important. We need to not only be strong for ourselves but for those who look to us for leadership and a feeling of safety.

Scroll Saw Wooden Bowls by Carole Rothman: Revised Edition:

I have reviewed this book before but I thought it would be a great book for you to have for the lockdown. Cutting wooden bowls on the scroll saw has been around for several years. A few years ago Carole Rothman took the art to a new level. Luckily she put all her techniques in a book for us to learn from

If you have not seen one of these bowl projects before you will be surprised how simple the basic technique is. One small board is used. The concentric ring pattern is applied and the rings are cut on a bevel. When you reverse stack the rings they make a bowl.

Here is a link to one of my wooden bowl patterns that you can download to understand the technique. Once you see the basic technique then you can check out Carole's book for more advanced projects.

Last year Carole revised and added mot patterns to her original book. The extra patterns make the book a must buy even if you have the original book. The book sells for $12.99 which makes each pattern very inexpensive.

Here is a link to Carole's YouTube channel. She has several videos showing the making of these wooden bowls.

The book is laid out so you have more advanced projects as you get the technique mastered. The instructions point out all the tools and supplies you need.

Sanding is the toughest part of this technique. Hand sanding just won't get the job done on these projects. You will need power sanding. Carole shows different tools that can be used.

This is easily one of the most comprehensive books I have seen for any craft project.
