Russ, from Simply Wooden Creations, is ready to start his whirligig wars competition on May 1. You will have the month of May to complete your entry.
This is an annual event. Russ always signs up a few sponsors to donate prizes. The Scrollsaw Workshop will be a sponsor for a $100 gift certificate. Make sure you check out the website for more details on prizes.
Here is last year's video and pattern that I had available for the contest. You can use this pattern to make your entry, design your own, or grab a book from Amazon. Amazon has all kinds of patterns from simple to complex. You can make a simple whirligig and still win a prize.
Rules & How to Enter
1. One entry per YouTube channel one entry per person.
2. Only one prize will be awarded per person per entry.
3. Materials...The sky is the limit and so is the theme.
4. Must be built by you not purchased.
5. Make a two minute video of your Whirligig working (in motion). I really want to see it in action powered by the wind... as a last resort if there is no wind then use a fan. In order to qualify it must be seen in the video in motion. The video can be as long as you want but the first two minutes of your video must be of your Whirligig working (in motion).
6. Upload your video to your YouTube channel. The video name must contain Whirligig Wars 2020. You may include any other description you want but it must contain Whirligig Wars 2020
7. You must be subscribed to Simply Wooden Creations on YouTube.
8. Send an email to: contest@simplywoodencreations.com.
