This Thanksgiving Door Ornament pattern comes in two sizes. 8" tall and 10" tall.
Let me start by saying that this is not a recommendation. This is not the method I use to attache scroll saw patterns to wood. This is an alternative.
Before Sloans Workshop shut down they sold Pattern label Paper that you could print your patterns on and stick them on the wood. This eliminated using spray glues or stick glues. You did not need tape under the pattern. The product was very convenient. I don't remember the price but it was more expensive than other methods of applying patterns.Many people found the convenience was worth the cost.
I have received three emails since Sloans shut down asking if I knew who else sold the product. I know of sources for rolls of pattern label paper but not cut sheet. I looked on Amazon and found Full Sheet Removable Label Sheets. I ordered a pack to test for scroll saw patterns.
Before you guys go crazy, yes I know this is expensive. If you cut dozens of scroll saw patterns a week then this is not an option for you. The sheets are about 60 cents per/sheet. This is pure convenience over cost.
Here is how my test went.
You want to optimize the print on the page. The more you can print on a single page the better the cost.
After cutting the pattern from the sheet the backer paper peels of easily and is ready to apply to the wood. There is not need for tape under or over the pattern. The glue on the label lubricates the blade just as well as the tape. We Also don't need the tape to make the pattern easy to remove. These are removable labels. They come off easily. The question is, will they lift while cutting.
Because these are removable labels you can reposition them a couple of times before they lose their stickiness.
Drilling the tiny interior starter holes did not cause any lifting of the pattern.
There was also no sign of pattern lifting during the cuts. It seemed very secure. I did make sure the board was dust free before I applied the pattern.
Here is a close up of the cut to show that the pattern stuck well.
Removing the pattern is as easy as it gets. This is easily the simplest method for removing the pattern.
The label leave no glue residue on the board. No cleaning or sanding necessary.
So, it it worth the cost? My closest estimate to applying a pattern using printer paper, Spray Adhesive, and Blue Painters Tape is about .05 per sheet, not including printer ink. This label paper is .60 per sheet, not including printer ink.
If you printed on average one 3 sheet scroll saw pattern every week for a year this would be the cost of each method. 52 projects a year is probably more than the average scroller does but this is just an example.

I print close to 2,000 pattern pages a year. Obviously that would make the labels cost prohibitive. If you are a weekend scroller then the cost does not seem as hard to swallow. Like I said it is convenience over cost when it comes to full sheet labels.
Does anyone remember the price of Sloans Pattern Paper? Does anyone know of another source. I am not talking about the rolls, I meant the cut sheets.
