Love Country Music Scroll Saw Pattern.

I like many different styles of music but I am a country man at heart. There are a lot of great young country singers but I especially love old country. Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and, Patsy Cline are a few of my favorites. "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that twang." Sounds good to me. :)

This pattern comes in two sizes. The small pattern is ten inches tall. The large pattern is thirteen inches tall. I am showing the pattern with a backer board. The backer board is optional. This pattern would look nice in 3/4" wood with no backer.

Cool 24" X 36" Wood Poster

The guy over at the Wood DataBase designed this poster. I ordered one from Amazon because I am a wood junkie and think the poster is cool and useful. The woods are listed by region and hardness. I often refer to the Janka scale to find the hardness of a board. The Janka scale is a standard for measuring the hardness of the wood.

The Janka test measures the force required to embed a .444" steel ball halfway into a wood board. You can see a typical Janka list at this link. The hardest wood I have tried to cut on the scroll saw was Ipe. It has a hardness value of 3,684 lbf. As a comparison, Red Oak has a value of 1,290 lbf. Trying to cut 3/4" thick Ipe was like trying to cut steel. I gave up pretty quickly.

There seems to be some dispute as to which is the hardest wood in the world. Australian Bulocke is one that claims the throne. I have never been able to get that species but would love to try it out.

Besides the hardness values on this poster, it also has thumbnails. I would think the thumbnails might be helpful for intarsia artists.

The Amazon link above is my affiliate link. If you order this poster I get a small kickback and your price does not change. Thanks for your support.
